Entering the Mind of Christ
With respect for all faiths, James Finley, a former Trappist monk at the Abbey of Gesthemane in Kentucky, narrates in this 6-CD set what is essentially an audio retreat highlighting the fundamental practices at the heart of Christian meditative traditions.
Finley lived and studied with Thomas Merton, who just before his unexpected death while traveling in the Far East wrote to his brothers at the Abbey, including Finley, that "he now realized that everything he had been searching for could be found at his own hermitage, within the Christian tradition."
Brother Finley covers a wide range of topics, from the history and traditions of Christian meditation to how to move past the "tyranny of the past," to thoughts on vulnerability, to step-by-step instructions on how to progress to a state of awakened consciousness.
