Budrus
Palestinians and Israelis come together in a nonviolent movement to protect the olive tree fields belonging to residents of the West Bank town of Budrus from the Separation Barrier under construction by the Israeli government. The wall is under construction to wall off the state of Israel from the West Bank.
The Separation Barrier would cut Budrus off not only from its ancient olive groves, but from neighboring Palestinian villages. Palestinian men of all factions unite to wage an unarmed struggle to preserve their lands, led by Ayed Morrar, whose 15-year-old daughter then organizes a group of women from Budrus to move to the front lines to face the Israeli military.
The protest’s unarmed demonstrators stand against the Israeli military in this harrowing tale, which eventually draws Israeli citizens, Palestinians from other villages and international activists. Slowly and incrementally, the peaceful movement gains ground across the Occupied Palestinian Territories.
