One In a Billion
Everyone in Ravi Patel's family has the last name: Patel. Every Patel marries a Patel...even the Patels in America. After two years of dating an American girl named Audrey and never telling his parents about her, Ravi breaks up with her and embarks on a journey to better understand what he wants and how to find love. Suddenly close to thirty, he decides to give the Indian matchmaking system a try.
One in a Billion previewed in NY for a diversity program sponsored by the Tribeca Film Festival and Goldman Sachs. Sundance Editing Award winner Matthew Hamachek worked on the documentary, and Geeta and Ravi Patel have garnered financing from Impact Partners, who will be coming on for the theatrical version. The co-directors are also working with Rick Rosenthal and his company Whitewater Films, who donated an editing room, a grant, and other support.
