The Team

The Team went where we all want to go - away. It followed the filmmakers' multiracial, nontraditional family - two Dads, Macky and Nick, and two daughters, Alice and Penelope - as they escaped the wired world for a year in the idealized Eden of Costa Ric.  Their plan: to get to know the reality of the people whose homes and histories they occupied.  Filming continued as they readjusted to life in New York after that year away.  The Team is a story of neocolonialism meets globalization meets a family born of these histories, wondering what in the world they can do about it. Director Macky and his husband, Producer Nick Gottlieb and their girls are still discovering a spiritual path forward.
