A Rabbi's Journey

A Rabbi's Journey explores the evolving relationship between Judaism and American culture by  examining the life of rabbi Benjamin Rudavsky and his endorsement of controversial marriages between Jews and non-Jews.  Such activity was frowned upon by the rabbinical community in the 1970s, when this story begins, but in years since there has been a substantial increase in the number of interfaith marriages and a shift in perspectives on it.

Benjamin Rudavsky is film director Oren Rudavsky's father, a rabbi and a poet who has written about subjects such as Palestine and Israel, his wife, and issues of mortality.  All of these subjects will be intimately explored in the context of rabbi Rudavsky's personal journey.
